Class Schedule
Adult Classes are held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. every Wednesday at the new dojo location in Fargo, ND. We're the furthest East part of the warehouse looking building at around 506 Oak Street N. Access is from the alley.
A calendar with the class schedule can be found in the dojo news page.
We have a variety of experience levels in the dojo from beginners to kyu ranks. Currently everyone trains together. As learners progress and start achieving higher ranking, we may offer advanced classes as well.
No appointment is necessary to come to the dojo and watch a class. After class is over, you may speak with Sensei, or any of the dojo students to ask any questions that you may have. It is preferred that you call or mail ahead to alert the instructor of your plan to visit.
Please don't expect to train on your first visit.
You can find more information about what to expect and how to prepare for your first visit to the dojo. Please read this section before you visit us.
Private Lessons are available on a "by appointment" basis.
Location
The dojo address is: 500-512 Oak St N, Fargo, ND.
Show on Google MapsWe share this dojo space with Hidden Teachings Karate School which meets on Mondays and Thursdays.
Why do we call ourselves the Aggasiz Dojo? We opened originally in Moorhead, MN, so we first called ourselves the Moorhead Dojo. Now, we're moving to Fargo, ND (just across the river AND the state line) and so I didn't know if we should call ourselves the Fargo Dojo or Red River Dojo, or something else instead. Keeping our options open and allowing for possible future location changes, I thought that Aggasiz was appropriate.
If you look, you'll see that Lake Aggasiz was actually a glacial lake left from the last ice age that covered a huge area of Central North America. Its area was larger than all of the modern Great Lakes combined, and it held more water than contained by all lakes in the world today.
